Stephanie Liapis' career as a professional dancer, choreographer and educator spans nearly twenty years and includes work with New York City based companies Doug Varone & Dancers and Nicholas Leichter Dance, Susan Marshall & Company, Nancy Bannon, the MET Ballet, Netta Yerushalmy, Faye Driscoll and Aquila Theater among others. She has been creating original works since 2008 and has been presented in NYC, Detroit, Denton, Seattle, Phoenix, Switzerland and Singapore. Stephanie holds a B.F.A. in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and an M.F.A. in dance from the University of Washington. She has served as an Assistant Professor of Dance at Long Island University-Brooklyn as well as Adjunct Lecturer at Texas Women's University, the University of Washington (UW), Barnard College, Hunter College and SUNY Purchase College. She has had the pleasure of teaching at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University (Turkey), Espacio LEM (Argentina), The American School Switzerland (Switzerland), and the professional studios of Dance New Amsterdam, Mark Morris Dance Center, Gina Gibney Dance, 100 Grand Dance, Velocity Dance Center and the Fremont Abbey to name a few. Stephanie relocated to Seattle in 2016 and is currently on faculty at Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Dance Fremont and Velocity Dance Center. In 2014 as part of the Bonderman Fellowship from the UW, Stephanie embarked on an 8-month solo trip around the world.
