Richard Cohen

Richard Cohen is a writer and director based in Chicago, IL. He has written over 25 short film scripts and 4 feature film scripts. Two of the his feature film scripts, Finland and The Masters, have placed in the final round of the Sundance Writer's Lab competition. His experimental TV-Web series, Mothers and Fathers, also placed in the final round of Sundance's joint New Media lab with YouTube. In 2013 he produced his short film Cicero in Winter, staring Daniel J. Travanti, and Reels International purchased the US and foreign broadcast rights the following year. In 2015 he completed the initial pieces for his ongoing work entitled Microkosmos, and in this work he borrowed a writing process from Mike Leigh where he met with and developed a character from the actor's life and then wrote a short script based on this fictional character. Most recent, Richard has produced the first two episodes from the first season of his series Sold, which he wrote and directed.  This is the series for which he is applying.
