Ray Maseman has been a printmaker for over fifteen years, and an artist since his childhood in the suburbs of Chicago. Through etching and printing copper plates, he creates whimsical narratives of journeys, odysseys and quests. These stories are populated by characters who are fathers and saints and heroes, devoted to and defined by the responsibilities of adulthood.
Maseman received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Denver, and he has been creating his unique etchings at New Grounds Print Workshop, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1997. Maseman is married and the father of three children. In addition to creating art, he is a school librarian and has been a teacher at New Grounds since 2005. His etchings have been exhibited widely and can be found in numerous public and private collections.
