Playing close attention to the economy, ethnicity, and history Marco Villalobos explores intimate narratives through literature and film. As co-producer of the recent exhibit, African By Legacy, Mexican By Birth, Villalobos is credited with the project’s growth from still-portraiture toward a unique combination of oral history, literature and film installation. He has shared his cultural experience and insight as a workshop facilitator and lecturer in under-served communities throughout the U.S. and Latin America, as well as in Europe and West Africa. Villalobos is a Fulbright Fellow, a UNESCO Laureate, and a National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC) grantee. His fiction, non-fiction, and poetry have appeared in various literary journals and anthologies, and he has reported for a number of national and international magazines.
