Born, bred, and currently based in New York City, Lillian is primarily a self-producer. Most of her work is site-specific, and explores the boundaries of performance and the role of the audience in live theater. She has developed pieces with playwrights such as Patrick Shaw, Alexandra Bassett, Jason Platt, Dominic Finocchiaro, Angela Santillo, and commissioned or produced work by Tommy Smith, Alexis Roblan, Normandy Sherwood, among many others. Aside from her own projects – which include her annual festival of plays written for and performed in community gardens – she is a co-founder and core member of FullStop Collective, an associated artist of foolsFURY Theater Company, a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and a former directing intern at Actors Theatre of Louisville. She is an alumna of Vassar College and the National Theater Institute, and has trained with BADA, LAMDA, The Wooster Group, and Mary Overlie, among others. Although she is not a writer, she does occasionally pen plays, poems, and essays.
