Joshua Samson has spent the last 13 years making films in and around Salt Lake City, UT. He earned his B.S. in Mass Media Studeies from Missouri State University and his M.F.A. in Film Studies from the University of Utah. He has been making ridiculous movies since he was 12 years old and has spent much of his professional life balancing his time as a freelance filmmaker, artist, and educator in various forms, most recently as the Educator in Residence at Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. His films range from odd experimentals to dark animations; from silly fiction films and satire to documentaries about misundertood and often stigmatized topics. He was drawn to film from a young age because of the amazing amount of different artforms that converge in the making of truly independent film and he continues to make his own work as well as partner with organizaations and other individuals to create films for varying walks of life and purposes.
