I was recently chosen as one of the artists included in the Louisiana Bicentennial Book: "A Unique Slant of Light
The Bicentennial History of Art in Louisiana." And best of all is what they wrote about my work!
"Based in New Orleans from 1969 to 1989, Christopher R. Harris worked as a prolific freelance photojournalist, capturing dynamic, striking black-and-white images for numerous publications, including Time, The New York Times, Figaro, and Sports Illustrated. His subject matter is impressively varied, ranging from NAACP meetings to Ku Klux Klan gatherings, from governors’ mansions to bohemian music festivals. During his time in New Orleans, Harris was able to gain access to a number of American icons, including such literary lights as Alice Walker, Tennessee Williams, and Walker Percy, as well as musical stars such as the Neville Brothers and Professor Longhair."
It is this kind of support that will allow me to progress to the publication of my book of photographs on Walker Percy.
I look forward to any support you can offer...including using your sources...please pass this on to anyone on your Facebook or other social media. Thanks, as always.
