This piece (again erroneously posted sideways) is inspired by some work I saw in Prague this last May. This will be called "When the Blinds Are Drawn" and will be about self-abuse.

I bought a huge piece of plexiglass and here Jisel is measuring it out with me. Jisel and Mark have been my go to people on this project. Now someone else is going to use a laser cutter to write WRATH into it in a screwed up font. I don't know now it will look- perhaps it'll be better to scratch it in. Experimenting...

My Wrath piece is coming along well. The blunt force objects/sticking and striking objects, as well as the tire, have been welded on. Next, will be affixed to the front...

(I don't know why this is sideways again)- but here's a pic of a lot of the patinas that I'll be experimenting with.

This is one of the brass pieces which I've engraved with a line from a Canadian poet and dear family friend, Carole Chambers. I tried to incorporate this line into a painting but it didn't work. I'm trying again here. I'd like to experiment now with patinas. One of the great things about living at the Brewery Artist lofts is all the learned people who can be hired to things like engrave this with a CNC machine.

This is a short video of a CNC machine. I'm experimenting with different material and processes. This is just a test piece. I'm going to have several pieces of brass and copper engraved and then with play with patinas. I have a lot to learn in a short amount of time. And as such, have also enrolled in a custom metal smith class which I'll be taking next week. I'm really excited.

These swatches are for my piece on Sloth. I thought I should have a figurative, soft sculpture and will riff on Joseph Beuys of the Fluxus movement. My piece will be misshapen and lumpy with long useless arms, coffee stains and scratches with red thread coming out. I can't wait! The "creature" will be headless and also refer to the felt suit that Beuys made.

This swatch of fabric- which appears to be sideways for some reason- is a test piece for my piece on Greed which is going to be both a dress I wear and will come flowing out of a decrepit old Singer Sargent Sewing machine. I submitted this piece to a show called "Into Action" which I'll be in automatically because I was in the "One Year" show at the Brand. Now I'm under the time crunch to get it done by Jan 1

The desserts are also for the Gluttony piece. Who knew that Amazon.com could provide such an array of delectable fake desserts?
