The twelve saints are completed! I really imagined this project would have been finished long before now, but, alas, life does not go as planned. The twelve images are attached here. I will be creating the saint cards soon, and those will go out to all backers before Christmas. Everyone will be receiving all twelve cards, rather than just selecting four. Those of you who have one ore more actual prints coming your way, I will be contacting you separately about which saints you want.

Thank you again for your support! This project would not have happened without the backing of each and every one of you!

It has begun! A few days ago I started creating the first image for the Saints Reimagined project. I began with St. Sebastian, as the idea of depicting him as a porcupine was what got this project started. Watch the attached video to see the process of beginning an etching--creating the drawings, drawing on the plate, etching the plate, inking, proofing, and transferring the image to the additional color plates.

I'll post more updates as this image evolves, and as others start to develop. Sts Brendan, Anthony, and Elizabeth and Anna (the last two together in one image) are likely coming next, with St. Teresa de Avila percolating through my head as I read her book, Interior Castle.

If you are reading this and haven't yet contributed to the project, do not fear! There are still 16 days of fundraising remaining. Just go click on the big blue-green DONATE button and join in the fun.

    Thanks,

    Hello Dear Supporters!

I have three messages to share with you.

First, and most importantly, thank you so much for supporting this project! I especially appreciate your contribution in the early stages.

Second, I set up a blog featuring sketches and other thoughts about this project. You can view it at http://notreligiousart.wordpress.com. Please send me your suggestions of saints you would like to see portrayed. I'll feature rough sketches of my thoughts on that saint on the blog.

Of course, those sketches are not going to amount to much if this project doesn't reach its funding goal. Please tell your friends! Don't forget--your friends tax deductible donations can up your perk level. For example, if ten of your friends contribute at the $25 level, you'll get a print from the finished suite of saints.

Thank you again for your help!
