Romeo and Juliet

by Marine de Vachon

Contempo Arts Productions' mission is to bring new, unique and meaningful productions to the stage.

Born from the desire to innovate and convey a powerful message with which audiences of all ages and backgrounds can identify, CAP seeks to reach out to, and bring together, diverse peoples through a universal language: the arts.

Contempo Arts Productions' upcoming project is a full length contemporary ballet version of Romeo and Juliet to Prokofiev's score. In this version, while adhering closely to Shakespeare's plot, the idea is to make the story more relatable and relevant to current events and issues through an in depth analysis of the characters' personalities along with a twist in the cause and effect. The goal is to create a beautiful, yet groundbreaking work of art through original choreography, high fashion costuming and vanguard sets, while being thought provoking and allowing the audience to identify with the personas, issues and circumstances presented.

In George Washington words, "the Arts and Sciences [are] essential to the prosperity of the State and to the ornament and happiness of human life". Together, with your support of the arts, we can allow people to feel, think and comprehend, while inspiring, encouraging and bringing hope to mankind.

We are looking to raise a minimum of $10,000. All funds raised will go directly toward the production costs, including helping pay for the choreography, dancer fees, costumes, rehearsal studio rental, theater rental, sets, photography/videography, props, advertising, programs, etc. The target amount is only a small portion of the necessary budget, so in the event the project is overfunded, all extra donations will go towards production.

Contempo Arts Productions thanks you for your consideration and support.
