The Madison Choral Project

Our Project

We are funding a fully professional chamber choir of 16 to 20 voices for a concert this spring, featuring the music of modern American greats like Samuel Barber and fellow midwesterners Dominick Argento and Stephen Paulus, as well as some of the best Germanic Nineteenth-Century composers including Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Rheinberger, and several lesser known artists.

In funding this concert we hope to build toward other concerts in an ongoing engagement within the Madison community.

There is a rich tradition of choral music in Madison, and we know there are professional level singers and an audience here for our work.

Your tax-deductible donation will allow us to hire singers, order music, rent a performance facility, and a professional recording technician.

Thanks for considering a contribution to the Madison Choral Project!

Our Philosophy

As a community of human voices, a choir transmits art directly from body to body, mind to mind, soul to soul.  In an exceptional performance, a choir connects singer, composer, and audience, and all are moved, enriched, and elevated.  Music connects people, helping us to understand others, and ultimately, ourselves.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enrich our audiences through performances of choral music at the highest level, connecting individuals with profound expression as set in song, and illuminating the diversity of the human experience.
