High Point (A Short Film)

My name is Lesley Demetriades and I'm running this campaign on behalf of myself, Sachie Alessio and Jennifer Jarrett. We're the producers of High Point, a comedic short film written by Sachie Alessio that explores the "haves" and "have nots" of parenting. Parenthood is an interesting time. It changes relationships - romantic and friendships alike.  Despite the plethora of parenting advice available, everyone still feels as though they're navigating through uncharted territory! To make matters worse, there are very strong opinions that exist about how a "good" parent and partner should behave. But, it's a universal feeling to want to be seen and understood - to have our needs and struggles acknowledged and counseled.

We are raising $2500 to shoot and edit this truthful and honest story about thehardships of trying to communicate with new parents, in a comedic way of course! We will be spending the funding on our cinematographer, sound engineer, equipment rental, and editor. We've built our cast of incredibly talented actor friends to help us tell the story: Sachie Alessio, Vanessa Fiola, Scarlett Lam, Kenny Dickenson, Joshua Heath, Tami Carey, Stephanie Bast, Michelle LaRue, Ashleigh Prather & Ian Shepard. Our production team is female centric and we are excited to be showcasing creative female talents both in front of and behind the camera. Sachie Alessio is an actor/writer, Jennifer Jarrett is an actor/producer, and I'm a director/producer. We believe there should be more stories about women, told by women, and made by women. So, that's what we're here to do!

We're going to film this five page short in one day. We already have our location and we're building the rest of our team right now. We will be shooting on the Panasonic GH4 and everyone involved will bring the best standard of their professional practices to the table. This film is going to look good, be funny, and shed light on a subject we all have come in contact with!  Any contribution you make is tax deductible and anything we make over our minimum goal will go to making this film that much better! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and please remember that sharing this page is just as important as a contribution!
