A Grand Feast
A Grand Feast is a Gothic fairytale inspired by Hansel and Gretel, but with more tone and scope of Fargo and Django Unchained. After wandering into a 19th century plantation home, two siblings find themselves trapped in a grim and terrifying banquet where the guests have an appetite of a different kind. It is a character-driven satirical drama about survival, self-discovery and revenge.
I remember the first movie I shot using a Super 16mm film camera. It was a recreation of a scene from Batman using action figures when I was four years old. That experience led me to discover my passion for film making, more specifically as a director. Overall, my influences have been vast and eclectic. I admire the earlier works of Tim Burton, David Fincher, Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, and Guillermo Del Toro. I enjoy the way these directors bend genres to create a darker, edgier and more visceral experience than most traditional films. Drawing comparisons between dark humor, fantasy and experimental storytelling, the aesthetics of these works often blur the line between what is real/surreal. I strive to push boundaries, reach for new levels on every project and believe that once you find a balance, it is the most rewarding.
A Grand Feast is currently in pre-production. The film is Directed by Geoff McGee, Produced by Jordan Aveline Blair, Co-Produced by Derek Presley and Executive Produced by Hunter Carson. We will begin auditioning actors in March 2015 with hopes of locking the cast in April. We intend to begin principal photography in May and will submit to festivals in the Fall.
