Raised in New England, TJ Norris has been a Northwest-based multidisciplinary artist since 2001. He often splits his creative time as a contemporary art curator and cultural journalist (ARTnews, Visual Art Source, Willamette Week). Since the 1990s, Norris has presented his work throughout North America and Europe. He was a featured artist in the Tacoma Art Museum's 10th Northwest Biennial and is included in the Pacific NW Photo Drawers at Blue Sky Gallery through March 2013. Norris has completed residencies with Caldera and most recently the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City. Often referred to as minimal, his photographic work has also been seen as part of various installation and collaborative projects. His subject matter often plays on the depth and metaphors found in urban environments. He is currently working towards publishing a book of his series 'No Sign'.
