Nic Tullis (aka Photos By iPhonetography) is an up and coming young photographer from Belleville who specializes in capturing and/or editing photos using his iPhone 4s. Nic is self-taught, but aspires to travel internationally taking more than simple scenery shots. His awareness of social issues and societal challenges is evident in the images he captures on film, and is inspired in part by his grandfather, Jim Quinn, who was an award-winning photojournalist from Rockford, Illinois.
Nic's long term goals include attending Full Sail University to learn how to write, develop, and market smartphone applications that further the art of taking, editing, and preserving smart phone & digital photography. In the meantime, his objective is to continue to learn new photography skills and grow a following for photos that show the world in true colors, not just the pretty side of life, through art gallery showings, local magazine publications, and his own page on OnStl.com.
Despite only being active in the St. Louis & Metro East art scene for less than a year, Nic has already had pieces on display at The Sheldon Art Gallery & Concert Hall, Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Maryland, Soulard Art Market, the 33February exhibit organized by mySLART.org, and was included in the 2013 Young Artist Showcase at Sole Survivor Art Gallery in Belleville, Illinois. His pieces are also prominently displayed at the beautiful Benton Park Inn in St. Louis, Missouri.
