Lisa Folino was born and raised in Southern California. Her interest in photography began at an early age under the guidence of her father Sal Folino, a pioneering cameraman in Television, and seven time Emmy Award winner. Both music and photography have been a major part of Lisa's life. She studied music performance and arrangement at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She credits her expansive knowledge of photography from the years she studied at The New School of Photography at Orange Coast College, Costa Mesa California.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous gallery exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe. Her work is in the permanent collections of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Houston Texas, The Harry Ransom Center, Austin Texas, and The Center for Photography at Woodstock, Woodstock New York. From 16,000 entries, the portfolio "Shadows and Light" was chosen for the International Survey of Photography, Photography Now: one hundred portfolios at Wright State University.
Lisa has been published in numerous magazines some including; Black & White Magazine, Camera Arts Magazine, The Photo Review, and Antilipseis Magazine, Athens Greece.Her work has been recognized in many International competitions: IPA/The Lucie Awards winning first place in the fine art still life category. Center Santa Fe Project Competition, winning the Director's Award. WPO/Sony Awards, The Julia Margaret Cameron Competition, exhibition and inclusion in the book.
