Carmella Jarvi is an artist - entrepreneur, whose work has evolved from "women in water" paintings to abstract explorations of water through glass. She is in the studio nearly every day exploring warm glass - or kiln fused glass.
Jarvi is a McColl Center for Visual Art and Vermont Studio Center alumni. She's also won several Regional Artist Project Grants - including one in 2013 to learn more about glass. Throughout 2014, her glass can be seen on a local "ArtPop" billboard in Charlotte, NC.
Although she's explored and painted water for years, glass has always intrigued her. This natural medium for expressing water became her focus after a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico where the underwater caves energized a new phase of her work.
